A native of central Nebraska, Richard Johnson has 19 years agricultural lending experience and significant expertise in production agriculture. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College and have advanced training in Ag lending. From row-crop to cow-calf to feedlots to specialty crops and agri-business, I've been actively involved in all aspects of these types of operations and have “hands on” experience.

My wife, Connie, is a teacher at C.L. Jones Middle School in Minden, Nebraska. Connie is also a graduate of Kearney State College.  Our eldest son, Joshua, a graduate of UNL is a banker in Lincoln and completed his MBA from UNO in May of 2010.  Our youngest son, Jordan, is a student at UNL.

I am a long time member of the Lions Club, sit on the state board of directors for the Nebraska Kidney Association, Past President of the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce, treasurer of the Dawson County Corn Growers, a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington, an advocate/speaker for the American Cancer Society, and a member of the Dawson County Relay for Life Committee.

I have spent most of my banking career in agricultural lending and have experience in both large and small banks.  I’m looking forward to meeting Homestead customers. Please stop in, say hello!
